Ingredients
For the Biscuits:
-
1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 large biscuits)
-
¾ lb deli-style roast beef, thinly sliced
-
8 slices provolone cheese (cut in half, or shredded)
-
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp dried parsley (optional, for garnish)
For the Au Jus Dipping Sauce:
-
2 cups beef broth (low-sodium preferred)
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp dried thyme
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Prepare the Biscuit Dough
Open the can of biscuits and separate the dough.
Flatten each biscuit into a 4–5-inch circle using your hands or a rolling pin.
Step 3: Fill the Biscuits
Place a small amount of roast beef and half a slice of provolone cheese in the center of each flattened biscuit.
Fold the edges up and over the filling, pinching to seal tightly.
Place each stuffed biscuit seam-side down in the muffin tin or spaced evenly on the baking sheet.
Step 4: Brush and Bake
In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and parsley.
Brush the tops of the biscuits with the garlic butter mixture.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 5: Make the Au Jus Sauce
While the biscuits are baking, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and thyme in a small saucepan.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5–7 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
Reduce heat to low and keep warm until ready to serve.
Step 6: Serve
Remove biscuits from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Serve warm with small cups or bowls of au jus on the side for dipping.
Notes
Seal Well – Make sure the biscuit dough is pinched tightly to prevent filling from leaking.
Use Shredded Cheese – It melts quickly and distributes evenly inside.
Don’t Overfill – A little goes a long way to keep them easy to close and bake evenly.
Keep Au Jus Hot – Warm dipping sauce makes the whole experience more delicious.
Bake in a Muffin Tin – Helps keep the shape and makes them extra crispy on the edges.
