Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or any ground meat like chicken or turkey)
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 ribs of celery, sliced
  • 2 medium russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 head of green cabbage, chopped
  • 2 tbsp garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 heaping tbsp beef bouillon + 4 cups water (or chicken broth)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked.
  2. Add diced green pepper, onion, carrots, and celery. Season with garlic and herb seasoning and Cajun seasoning; sauté until vegetables are soft.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and cook for about two minutes.
  4. Add chopped potatoes and stir well to combine.
  5. Pour in canned tomatoes and minced garlic; mix thoroughly.
  6. Incorporate the chopped cabbage into the pot.
  7. Add the beef bouillon and water (or broth), then bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for about 30 minutes until potatoes and cabbage are tender. Adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
