  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 1¼ cups red and green M&Ms (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in one cup of red and green M&Ms along with chocolate chips.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, place dough portions on the prepared cookie sheet about one inch apart. Press remaining M&Ms on top of each dough ball.
  7. Bake for about 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on a rack for five minutes before serving.
