Ingredients

Scale

For the French Toast:

  • 6 slices of thick bread (Brioche or Texas toast works best)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

For Dipping (Optional):

  • Maple syrup
  • Honey
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

  1. Cut the bread slices into small cubes (about 1-inch pieces).

Step 2: Make the French Toast Mixture

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt.

Step 3: Cook the French Toast Bites

  1. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  2. Dip the bread cubes into the egg mixture, making sure each piece is well coated but not overly soaked.
  3. Cook the bites for 2-3 minutes per side, turning with a spatula, until golden brown on all sides.

Step 4: Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

  1. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Brush each cooked French toast bite with melted butter, then toss in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Serve warm with maple syrup, honey, or whipped cream for dipping.
  2. Enjoy every sweet, cinnamon-y bite!

Notes

Use Stale Bread – Slightly dry bread absorbs the egg mixture better without getting soggy.
Don’t Over-Soak the Bread – A quick dip in the mixture is all you need!
Cook on Medium Heat – Too high, and they’ll burn; too low, and they won’t crisp up.
Serve Immediately – Best enjoyed fresh and warm!
