-
2 tbsp olive oil or melted coconut oil

3 tbsp pure maple syrup
-
1½ tsp ground cinnamon
-
½ tsp sea salt
-
¼ tsp ground black pepper (optional for contrast)
-
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional for deeper warmth)
For Garnish (Optional):
-
Chopped pecans or walnuts
-
Fresh rosemary or thyme
-
A light drizzle of maple syrup before serving
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
Step 2: Prepare the Sweet Potatoes
-
Peel and dice the sweet potatoes into uniform 1-inch cubes.
-
Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Step 3: Toss with Seasoning
-
Add olive oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, and optional pepper and nutmeg to the bowl.
-
Toss well until all pieces are evenly coated.
Step 4: Arrange & Roast
-
Spread the seasoned sweet potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Make sure the pieces aren’t overcrowded—use two sheets if necessary.
-
Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until edges are golden and centers are tender.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
-
Once roasted, transfer to a serving dish.
-
Sprinkle with chopped nuts or fresh herbs if desired.
-
Add an extra drizzle of maple syrup for extra indulgence.
Notes
Cut Evenly – Uniform cubes ensure even roasting.
Don’t Overcrowd – Crowded pans steam the potatoes instead of roasting them.
Flip Halfway – Helps get those caramelized, crispy edges.
Add Nuts Last – For best crunch, sprinkle toasted nuts after baking.
Customize It – Add chili powder for heat, or orange zest for brightness.
