Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour (for thickening)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Beef Mixture

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned.
  2. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened (about 2 minutes).
  3. Stir in Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Make the Creamy Sauce

  1. Push the beef to one side of the skillet.
  2. Melt butter in the empty space, then whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly pour in beef broth, stirring constantly.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and let simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  2. Add the cooked pasta and mix well, coating each piece with the creamy sauce.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Remove from heat and let sit for 2 minutes to thicken.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra cheese, if desired.
  3. Serve warm with garlic bread or a side salad!

Notes

Use Freshly Grated Cheese – Pre-shredded cheese doesn’t melt as smoothly.
Don’t Overcook the Pasta – Cook it al dente so it holds up in the sauce.
Make it Lighter – Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream, or swap in Greek yogurt.
Make it Spicier – Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
