Ingredients
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour (for thickening)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Beef Mixture
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned.
- Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened (about 2 minutes).
- Stir in Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Sauce
- Push the beef to one side of the skillet.
- Melt butter in the empty space, then whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in beef broth, stirring constantly.
- Add the diced tomatoes and let simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Step 4: Combine Everything
- Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked pasta and mix well, coating each piece with the creamy sauce.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!
- Remove from heat and let sit for 2 minutes to thicken.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and extra cheese, if desired.
- Serve warm with garlic bread or a side salad!
Notes
Use Freshly Grated Cheese – Pre-shredded cheese doesn’t melt as smoothly.
Don’t Overcook the Pasta – Cook it al dente so it holds up in the sauce.
Make it Lighter – Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream, or swap in Greek yogurt.
Make it Spicier – Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
