Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (choose your favorite smoky or tangy variety)

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional, for a bit of tang)

For Serving:

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or coleslaw mix

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro

  • Sliced jalapeños (optional for heat)

  • Lime wedges for serving

  • Sour cream or ranch drizzle (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Sauté Garlic in Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant and just golden—don’t let it burn!

Step 2: Cook the Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet with garlic butter.
Break it up with a spatula and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until browned and fully cooked.
Season with onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Make the Honey BBQ Sauce
Lower the heat and stir in the BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and vinegar (if using).
Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef beautifully.

Step 4: Warm the Tortillas
Warm tortillas in a dry skillet, microwave, or oven until soft and pliable.
Keep covered to stay warm while assembling.

Step 5: Assemble the Tacos
Spoon the hot honey BBQ beef mixture into each tortilla.
Top with shredded lettuce or slaw, cheese, jalapeños, cilantro, and a drizzle of sour cream or ranch if desired.
Serve with lime wedges on the side for a fresh finish.

Notes

Use High-Quality BBQ Sauce – A smoky, tangy sauce brings big flavor.
Adjust Sweetness – Add more or less honey to suit your taste.
Make it Spicy – Add hot sauce or chili flakes to the beef mix.
Go Crunchy – Use a crunchy slaw for contrast and texture.
Toast the Tortillas – Lightly browning tortillas enhances flavor and prevents sogginess.
