Ingredients
For the Shrimp:

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tbsp olive oil

3 garlic cloves, minced

½ tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Juice of ½ lemon
For the Orzo:

1 tbsp butter or olive oil

1 small shallot, finely chopped

1 cup orzo pasta

2¼ cups vegetable broth or chicken broth

½ tsp garlic powder
-
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Juice of ½ lemon

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Optional: ¼ cup grated Parmesan or crumbled feta for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Shrimp

In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Step 2: Toast the Orzo
5. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
6. Add chopped shallot and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
7. Stir in the orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
Step 3: Simmer the Orzo
8. Add broth, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper.
9. Bring to a gentle simmer.
10. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
Step 4: Combine & Finish
11. Return cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss with the orzo.
12. Stir in lemon juice and chopped parsley.
13. Adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 5: Serve Hot
14. Garnish with Parmesan or feta if desired.
15. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
