Ingredients
- 450 g medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
- 450 g spaghetti, uncooked
- 6–8 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 60 ml unsalted butter
- Approximately 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- Italian seasoning to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes to taste
- Fine sea salt to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh herbs
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti: In a large pot of salted boiling water, add olive oil and fresh herbs if desired. Cook spaghetti until tender (9–11 minutes). Reserve 240 ml of pasta water, drain, and set aside.
- Prepare the shrimp: Rinse and pat dry the shrimp.
- Sauté the shrimp: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until they begin to turn pink (2–3 minutes).
- Add garlic: Mix minced garlic into the skillet and continue cooking until shrimp are fully cooked (5–7 minutes).
- Combine ingredients: Drizzle remaining olive oil over shrimp. Add cooked pasta, Italian seasoning, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt. Pour in reserved pasta water as needed for moisture.
- Toss & serve: Mix thoroughly over medium heat until evenly coated and heated through. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
