- 4 oz. unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 lb. cream cheese (softened)
- 1 and 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoon cocoa powder
- 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate (melted)
- 3 eggs (slightly beaten)
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (for topping)
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 4 oz. sweetened shredded coconut
- 3/4 cups chopped toasted pecans
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Mix ground Oreo cookies with melted butter and press into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust.
- Beat softened cream cheese until smooth, then gradually mix in sugar, cocoa powder, and melted chocolate. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the filling over the crust in the springform pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 60–70 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center. Cool gradually in the oven for about an hour.
- For the topping, melt butter in a saucepan and stir in evaporated milk, egg yolks, vanilla, brown sugar, shredded coconut, and pecans until thickened (10-15 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate, coconut oil, cocoa powder, heavy cream, and maple syrup.
- Pour the topping over the cooled cheesecake evenly and refrigerate for at least four hours before serving.
