- 1 white onion (peeled & thinly sliced)
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 pkg medium egg noodles
- 4 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Cook the egg noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, add canola oil. Once hot, add ground beef, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Cook while breaking up the meat until browned.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together whole milk and chicken broth until blended.
- Add sliced onion to the beef mixture and continue cooking until the beef is fully cooked.
- Push the meat mixture aside and add flour to the empty space in the pot; whisk until combined and cook for about 30 seconds.
