  • ¼ cup white onion (diced)
  • ¼ cup Italian breadcrumbs

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices pepperjack cheese
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium white onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
  • 3 Tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions, green and red bell peppers, and mushrooms until soft. Stir in minced garlic, barbecue sauce, black pepper, and kosher salt; cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, diced onion, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne. Mix gently until just combined; form into four patties.
  3. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill patties for about 5-6 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Add cheese during the last minute to melt.
  4. Toast buns if desired; assemble each burger with a patty and top with BBQ-glazed vegetables.
