Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce, slightly warmed
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra chocolatey goodness)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3: Combine the Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
Step 4: Make the Batter
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Stir until just combined—don’t overmix!
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips if using.
Step 5: Add the Hot Fudge Swirl
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Drizzle half of the hot fudge sauce over the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter on top.
- Drizzle the rest of the hot fudge sauce and swirl it lightly with a knife or skewer.
Step 6: Bake the Bread
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Step 7: Slice and Enjoy!
- Slice warm for the ultimate gooey experience or let it cool completely for cleaner slices.
Notes
- Use High-Quality Cocoa Powder: This makes a huge difference in flavor!
- Don’t Overmix the Batter: Overmixing can make the bread dense instead of fudgy.
- Warm the Hot Fudge Slightly: This helps it swirl more easily.
- For Extra Gooeyness: Slightly underbake for an extra fudgy center!
