Ingredients

  • SPG (Salt, Pepper, Garlic rub)
  • 6 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 4 slices Texas toast buns
  • Jalapeño popper mixture (cream cheese, chopped jalapeños, cheddar)

Instructions

  1. Form the ground chuck into 1/3-pound balls.
  2. Use a burger press to flatten each ball into patties.
  3. Season with SPG rub generously.
  4. Preheat your griddle and sear the patties for 4 minutes on one side.
  5. Flip the patties, season the other side, and top with pepper jack cheese; cook for another 3 minutes.
  6. Move cooked patties to the cool side of the griddle while toasting Texas toast until golden brown.
  7. Assemble by adding jalapeño popper mixture on each patty, stacking double patties, and topping with the second bun.
  8. Toast both sides of the sandwich again before serving hot.
