  • 3 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice whole wheat bread soaked in milk
  • 1/4 cup minced yellow onion
  • 2 garlic cloves (pressed)
  • Fresh basil and parsley

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground chicken, egg, soaked bread, minced onion, pressed garlic, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  2. Shape into small meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter).
  3. Cook meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until browned on all sides (7–10 minutes). Transfer to simmer in marinara sauce until fully cooked.
  4. Preheat oven broiler. Place hoagie rolls on a baking sheet; fill each with meatballs and spoon marinara sauce on top.
  5. Add shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan. Broil for 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.
  6. Garnish with oregano before serving.
