Ingredients

Scale

For the Seafood:

  • 1 salmon fillet (about 8 oz), skin removed and cut into chunks

  • ½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Alfredo Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1½ cups heavy cream

  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Pinch of ground nutmeg (optional, enhances the richness)

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz fettuccine or linguine

  • Salt for pasta water

  • 2 tbsp pasta water (reserved from cooking)

For Garnish:

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • Lemon wedges

  • Extra grated Parmesan

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente.

  3. Reserve 2 tbsp of the pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Step 2: Sear the Salmon and Shrimp

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

  2. Season salmon chunks and shrimp with salt, pepper, paprika, and lemon juice.

  3. Add salmon to the skillet first and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  4. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the salmon.

Step 3: Make the Alfredo Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter.

  2. Once melted, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir continuously for 2-3 minutes as it begins to simmer.

  4. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce thickens.

  5. Stir in salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if using.

  6. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the Alfredo sauce.

  2. Gently fold in the seared salmon and shrimp, being careful not to break the salmon pieces.

  3. Cook for 1-2 more minutes until everything is heated through and well coated in sauce.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

  1. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan.

  2. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for a bright, fresh finish.

  3. Enjoy immediately while hot and creamy.

Notes

Use Fresh Seafood – Fresh or properly thawed seafood gives the best flavor and texture.
Don’t Overcook – Both salmon and shrimp cook quickly, so keep an eye on them to avoid dryness.
Freshly Grate the Cheese – Pre-shredded Parmesan doesn’t melt as smoothly.
Save the Pasta Water – It’s perfect for thinning and enriching the sauce.
Serve Immediately – This dish is best enjoyed fresh off the stove.
