  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground turkey sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, grits, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and honey until just combined.
  4. Gently fold the cooked turkey sausage and shredded cheddar cheese into the batter.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  7. Bake for about 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
