  • 16 oz. fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 24 crispy ladyfingers
  • 1¼ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 16 oz. mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice
  • ½ Tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup strawberry preserves

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, and strawberry preserves. Toss gently and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream to stiff peaks.
  3. Fold mascarpone into the egg mixture until smooth. Gently mix in whipped cream along with orange zest and vanilla.
  4. Dip ladyfingers briefly in water or fruit juice and layer half in a baking dish. Spread half of the cream mixture over them followed by half of the strawberry mixture.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining ladyfingers, cream, and strawberries.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.
