Ingredients
- 16 oz. fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
- 24 crispy ladyfingers
- 1¼ cups heavy whipping cream
- 16 oz. mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp orange juice
- ½ Tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
- ¼ cup strawberry preserves
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, and strawberry preserves. Toss gently and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream to stiff peaks.
- Fold mascarpone into the egg mixture until smooth. Gently mix in whipped cream along with orange zest and vanilla.
- Dip ladyfingers briefly in water or fruit juice and layer half in a baking dish. Spread half of the cream mixture over them followed by half of the strawberry mixture.
- Repeat layering with remaining ladyfingers, cream, and strawberries.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.
