  • 80 grams red chili pepper (or 23 tablespoons dried crushed chili flakes)
  • 120 ml distilled white vinegar
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 120 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine red chili pepper, distilled white vinegar, sugar, water, minced garlic, and salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl until smooth and gradually add it to the saucepan while stirring continuously.
  4. Simmer for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat once desired consistency is reached.
