Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
For the Cinnamon Filling:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Pink Glaze:
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 drops pink or red food coloring
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Dough
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Slowly add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Step 3: Assemble the Cinnamon Rolls
- Roll out the risen dough into a 14×10-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and cover. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Bake the Rolls
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 5: Make the Pink Glaze & Serve
- In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and food coloring.
- Drizzle the pink glaze over warm cinnamon rolls.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
