Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup green or napa cabbage, chopped
- 3 green onions, finely sliced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 mushrooms, finely chopped
- ½ tsp baking soda (optional but recommended)
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or shaoxing grape juice)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 package wonton or dumpling wrappers
- More green onions, for garnish
- Chili oil, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped cabbage, sliced green onions, minced ginger and garlic, finely chopped mushrooms, baking soda (optional), sesame oil, rice vinegar, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Mix until well combined.
- In ramekins or heatproof mugs, layer a spoonful of the chicken mixture followed by a wonton wrapper. Repeat until the ramekin is nearly full.
- Pour about ⅓ cup of water into each ramekin and top with two additional wonton wrappers to seal.
- Place the ramekins in a Dutch oven or large pot with water halfway up the sides. Cover and steam for 20 minutes or until fully cooked.
- Carefully remove from heat and garnish with chili oil and sliced green onions before serving warm.
